We want you to meet two of our newest members. They are Yung-Hsun Wu and Yi-Hsin Lin, a married couple from Taiwan. They are new Christians, having heard and believed the gospel through their friendship with Ben and Karen Kim, members of UPC.
Yung-Hsun and Yi-Hsin both just obtained their Ph.Ds in Optics from UCF and are now visiting research scientists in the College of Optics and Photonics at UCF. Recently, Yi-Hsin competed for first place in an optics competition in Long Beach, CA, involving student-scholars from all over the world. Yi-Hsin had this to say about her experience:
I was so nervous about the presentation for New Focus Award Competition because other finalists, who are graduate students in Harvard University, Duke University, University of Pennsylvania, and so on, are so excellent. I prayed again and again, in the hotel room, conference room, ladies’ room, everywhere! Thank God. I gave a most enthusiastic presentation and impressed all the audience. When I gave my presentation, I was thinking that "I'm giving a presentation to God in order to glorify God."
When they are not in the lab, Yung-Hsun enjoys golfing and Yi-Hsin likes to go shopping. She also enjoys playing piano in her spare time. UPC had the pleasure of welcoming them into membership and witnessing their baptism on May 28. Yung-Hsun and Yi-Hsin will be returning to Taiwan in June. Let us pray that God will use them to take the good news of Jesus back to their homeland!
