Message Series: Behold His Glory: Who Is God and Why Does It Matter?
Surveys consistently reveal that most people, at some level, believe in God. But does everyone believe in the same God - the God of the Bible? Most people acknowledge that God is love. But what about other attributes, like holiness, justice, and power? This sermon series will explore some of the key character traits of God as presented in the Bible. Mike Osborne's goal in this series is to help people see God for who he truly is, for one's conception of God has everything to do with how one lives now and eternally.
This is the last message in Pastor Mike Osborne's 7-part series on the attributes of God. In this sermon from Psalm 145, Mike teaches on the importance of knowing that God is good and two ways God's goodness is revealed in Psalm 145. "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him" (Psalm 34:8).

This message focused on the prayer of the apostle Paul for the believers in Ephesus in Ephesians 1. Among other things, Paul prayed that they would know (experientially and intimately, not just abstractly) the incomparably great power of God. The power of God is available for Christians if only they would trust God and step out in faith. Be encouraged and challenged to be a person who lives as though nothing is too hard for God.

This message in the series, "Behold His Glory," is about the beauty of God. How can God, an invisible being, be seen as beautiful? David in Psalm 27 certainly thought God's beauty worthy of praise and pursuit. In his Word, his works, and his Son, God is beautiful to those who know him.

This message, the fourth in a series on God's attributes, is about the justice of God. Mike Osborne explains that God's just character can be looked at from two angles: retributive (or punitive) and restorative. The restorative justice of God sets a pattern for Christians to follow toward the poor and marginalized. Let Isaiah 42:1-9 challenge you to re-examine your attitudes toward the "bruised reeds" and "smoldering wicks" around you.

In this message, Mike Osborne expounds upon Jesus' story about the generous landowner. It is one of the clearest presentations of the grace of God anywhere in the Bible. See what the implications of grace are for you, your family, and your church.

"Holy, Holy, Holy." Why do Christians love that hymn? It's because it calls us away from the mundane and ordinary to the One who transcends all things. In Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah has a vision of God's holiness. In this message, you will walk through what he saw, heard, said, received, and did because of that vision. May God's holiness stir you to say with Isaiah, "Here am I, Lord, send me."

On January 8, Mike Osborne began a new sermon series called "Behold His Glory: Who Is God and Why Does It Matter?" This first installment explores the meaning and impact of the glory of God. Ezekiel's vision of God in Ezekiel 1 serves as the backdrop for this message about what would happen if God answered this prayer: "Lord, show me your glory."
