Mission:

To turn helpless orphans in Africa into godly contributors in their countries. This goal is accomplished by setting up training villages in ten of Africa’s most needy countries. The villages consist of an orphanage, a Christian school, and medical facilities.

Andrea's Background

Andrea’s Background Andrea has been a member at UPC since 2006. She has been a familiar face in the nursery. She graduated from UCF in 2002 and worked at the Master’s Academy as a 2nd grade teacher. In 2007 she felt a call to use her gifts in teaching to help orphans in Africa. Her talents fit with the vision of the Rafiki Foundation. She applied to this agency and was accepted. She hopes to learn from this one year trip and determine whether missions might be a long-term possibility.

Andrea in her Own Words

My vision is to follow the Lord's calling to work with the Rafiki Foundation in Kampala, Uganda. I plan to teach elementary school in the village and help these African orphans have an opportunity to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ and/or grow in that relationship. I desire for my perspective of God's kingdom and love for people to expand as well. I want to serve in any way I can while I am there.

Recent Activities

In February, one of Andrea’s good friend came to Uganda to study at a university. The two friends were able to meet up and had a wonderful time of fellowship together.
