College Ministry: Our Purpose

University Life exists to enfold students into the life of the church, to equip them to be agents of change for God’s kingdom and to launch a movement of the gospel that changes the University of Central Florida, and other area schools, spiritually, socially and culturally, for the glory of God.

 

The main focus of U-Life is on 3 things:

1. Equipping – As students are preparing for their futures, an important focus is on character development in their faith. Our main focus in equipping our students is to help them discover more deeply their identity in Jesus Christ (Genesis 1:26-27; Acts 17:28; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

2. Educating – College life in the public world can be extremely trying as students are hearing messages that are contrary to the Christian faith. Our focus is to train them to have a Biblical worldview so that they can stand up for their faith in difficult circumstances through their knowledge in the Scriptures (I Timothy 4:16; Romans 12:2).

3. Evangelizing – Our focus is to encourage students to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) by sharing the gospel with their roommates, classmates, and fellow employees whom they come into contact (Acts 1:8).
