Getting to Know the Kingdom Man of the Month: Matt Ryman
Matt has demonstrated strong perseverance and discipline as he recently passed all of his ordination exams to become an ordained minister of Jesus Christ in the Presbyterian Church in America. Not only did Matt attend seminary for 3 years, he also passed 3 written exams, 2 oral exams (one of them lasting 5 hours), and turned in 2 research papers. He did all of this, while leading our youth group, being married to Hana, and raising a newborn son, Noah. Matt, thank you for working hard for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Your hard work is much appreciated and admired!
A little more than you wanted to know about Matt:
Who would you rather star as in an action film: The Terminator or Rocky Balboa? Why?
I suppose I'd rather be the Terminator. Rocky Balboa was out to prove to the world that he wasn't a "bum." The Terminator, on the other hand, was sent to protect someone. I like the thought of saving someone better than the thought of saving myself.
Would you rather win a boxing match or Nascar race? Why?
That's a good question, considering the similarities. In both cases you have to be fast. In both cases you move around in circles (generally). And, in both cases, you don't want to be hit really hard. Still, I'd have to choose wining a Nascar race. It would be a quantitatively more satisfying wi; because you beat a number of people in a Nascar race - as opposed to just one in a boxing match.
What would you do if a child was still left in a burning building and there were no firefighters in sight?
I'd like to think that I would run in and save the child. However, nobody knows what they would really do in a situation like that until it happens.
