Getting to know our Kingdom Man of the Month for April: Vic Godlewski
Vic has been nearly a life long resident of Florida. He was raised in Orlando and Plantation and went to UCF where he received a BSE and MSE in environmental engineering. He met his wife, Cathy, at UCF where she held a student job in the cafeteria. Vic's only academic quarter on the meal plan really paid off! Vic and Cathy have 5 children, Vic and his family began attending UPC in 1992. He attributes the ministry of UPC to restoring his relationship with Jesus Christ. Vic served as UPC's first Deacon and has been an Elder since 2002. He also serves as UPC's Boy Scout Troop's scoutmaster. . Vic says that he serves the church out of gratitude to Christ for all that He has done for him and his family.
He is employed by the City of Orlando as Manager of the City's Wastewater Division. He enjoys the outdoors and college football. Go Knights!
A Little More Than You Wanted to Know About Vic:
#1: What would you do if you were stranded in the ocean and a shark was coming at you?
"I saw Jaws so I'm thinking my chances are not too good. I would go down fighting and punch the ugly fish in the nose!"
#2: What would you rather do: dunk a basketball or bowl a 300? Why?
I have always appreciated bowling. Name some other popular sports that you can participate in while eating pizza or wings! But I would rather be able to dunk a basketball. If I had that kind of vertical leap, then I would be pretty useful on a volleyball court too.
#3: What is the best manly movie you've seen? Why?
One of my long time favorites is the Great Escape. The cast featured Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and James Garner. It is a good action packed film about POWs planning and escaping form a German prison camp. The movie is based on a true story. It is a great manly film because of the plot and the cast.
