Getting to know our Kingdom Man of the Month for May:  John Chynoweth

John Chynoweth

I've been part of UPC since 1996, when our family moved from Nairobi, Kenya to Orlando. Being part of UPC has been full of learning to experience the grace of God in my life more fully. Lynn and I spent 20 years in Africa with CCC. I studied Educational Psychology at Texas A & M and currently work with CCC as a leadership development coach and trainer. Seeing people grow into their potential and building strong teams are my primary focus. Lynn, my wife of 385 months, stepped into the Lord's presence February 20th. Jim & Jessie, Isabella (3) and Jackson (1) and Mike and Michelle and Michael (1) are the rest of our family. These past three months, the Lord has taken me on a deep journey in His mercy and comfort and He's used the family of God to pour out His grace in my life. Thank you UPC for being here through this time!

Question #1: What would you rather do: hike the Appalachian Mountains or fly to the moon? Why?

Tough choice. Weightlessness and the sheer adventure of space travel is awesome, but I think I'd get claustrophobic in a little space capsule. I love hiking and backpacking since being a boy scout and the Appalacians are beautiful. Maybe we need a UPC men's backpacking trip over a long weekend?

Question #2: Who would you rather have next to you in war: Mr. T or Rambo? Why?

I'll take Mr. T. He's cool and tough. I like his style. Rambo is just a little over the top with a ridiculous machine gun.

Question #3: What is the best sport of all time? Why?

SCUBA diving. There really isn't anything quite like floating 70 feet below the surface of the ocean with coral and brilliantly colored fish all around you while you watch an octopus shift across the sand or a moray eel hiding in a crevice. I'm smiling just thinking about it!
