Sharing in Sisterhood

Hi UPC! I'm Mich Bilyeu and I've been attending UPC since 2005 when I was a sophomore in high school. I attended the high school youth group and volunteered at the middle school youth group for a few years. God truly blessed me with great friends and a wonderful experience through UPC.

Now, I'm a junior in college and God led me to stay in Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) with a major in Elementary Education.

When I started UCF in Fall 2007, I did not make many new friends and I had a very dry and boring school year. But my life changed when I decided to join the first Christian sorority at UCF called Sigma Phi Lambda (or Phi Lamb) in Fall 2008. Phi Lamb's motto is "Redefining Sisterhood" and we do this by uniting girls of all different backgrounds through the love of Christ. When Phi Lamb started at UCF in Fall 2007, there were only twelve girls involved. Now, after only two years, we have exponentially grown to nearly 100 girls in our sorority!

Phi Lamb has done amazing things in my life and I have been so blessed with this ministry. God opened the doors for me and allowed to be elected as the Vice President of Phi Lamb for the 2009-2010 school year and it has been such an amazing adventure already. I've been tested and pulled from but I've also been extremely encouraged and blessed. I'm so thankful for my time at UPC and the fellowship I experienced through my church members because I learned a lot about love and selfless giving. Now, I can take the wisdom I learned at UPC and spread it to my sisters and to the thousands of students on the UCF campus. I can honestly say that God is doing huge things at UCF and in Sigma Phi Lambda, and it is such a blessing to be able to witness it while having so many wonderful girls experience the journey with me.
