Where are we going
In 2009, UPC assembled a Strategic Planning Team to reflect upon our past, study our present opportunities, and recommend goals and tactics for the future growth and health of the church. The Team spent considerable time in prayer. They surveyed the congregation to get input on some critical issues. They identified needs both inside and outside the church, and relied on steering committees to develop short-, mid-, and long-range goals. In early 2010, the Team submitted the Strategic Plan to the Session, who after making some refinements adopted it later that year. Under God's direction, this Strategic Plan will be the basis for planning and budgeting for years to come.
Included in the Strategic Plan are the following:
- An assessment of UPC's strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
- An identification of the geographical targets of UPC's ministries
- A statement of UPC's mission targets, both internal and external
- An organizational structure for UPC's leadership teams
- Strategic goals for the next 20 years (2010-2030)
- Projected timelines for the development of church facility and staff
- A plan for reevaluating and sustaining the Strategic Plan
It has been the hope and prayer of the Strategic Planning Team that this plan should not just be a road map for UPC's future, but a rallying point for the entire church family as we seek to faithfully know God, grow together, and serve others.
