Mike Osborne hails from South Carolina. He's been a pastor since 1986, serving churches in Missouri, South Carolina, and Florida before coming to UPC in August, 2001.

He and his wife Suzy have been married 35 years. They have four children and six grandchildren.

Seth Hammond

Executive Pastor

Seth is from the beautiful city of Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2005, he moved to Orlando to pursue a Masters of Divinity Degree at Reformed Theological Seminary. During his time in seminary, he worked as the College Director of UPC.

A few months after graduation, he got ordained and is now serving as Executive Pastor. In January 2009, Seth married his wife, Stephanie.  They have one daughter, Abigail Grace.

Matt Ryman

Pastor of Youth and Families

Matt and his wife Hana are originally from Minnesota and have lived in Orlando since July of 2006. Matt is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. Hana is a stay-at-home mom and volunteers with the youth ministry. They have two children, Noah Matthew and Lydia Joan. Matt and Hana are both dedicated to seeing students transformed by Christ, established in their faith and empowered as disciple-makers.

David Piedt

Worship Director

Although born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, David spent most of his youth in Memphis, TN. After graduating from high school, he pursued an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Mississippi College. After one year of teaching and leading worship on the side, David felt the Lord calling him to pursue full-time ministry. In 2007, David graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX with a Masters of Music & Worship. Since then, he has been serving in Texas, as well as the Northwest areas of Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA as both a full-time Worship Pastor and music teacher.

David, along with his girlfriend Evie, came to UPC in July of 2011 to become the Worship Director.

 

Linda Wheatley

Director of Children's Ministry

Linda Wheatley is a native Floridian, from Tampa.  She has lived in Orlando for twelve years with her husband Paul, and their three daughters.  Linda first came on staff as an assistant and later was asked to fill the role as the director of children's ministry where she has been serving since May 1995.  Linda leads the ministry which includes nursery through the fifth grade.

Gaby Narvaez-Segrest

Gaby Narvaez-Segrest is our Nursery coordinator. She oversees the scheduling of volunteers to care for our littlest ones. Please contact her via email if you have any questions about our Nursery Ministry.

Amy Hersman

Youth and Families Assistant

Amy Hersman grew up in Kenya as the youngest daughter of Wycliffe Bible Translators missionaries Russ and Lynda Hersman. When Amy was in 11th grade they moved to Orlando to take care of her grandmother, and Amy finished her high school carrier at University High School, and attended the youth group at UPC.

After attending UCF for a year Amy moved to Portland, OR and studied Bible and Theology at Multnomah Bible College. Amy began volunteering with the youth at UPC eight years ago, and then in the summer of 2010 was brought on as full time staff to work with the youth and families of the church.

 

Michael & Rachel Blackston

Redeemer Counseling

Michael and Rachel Blackston lead Redeemer Counseling here at UPC. They are Licensed Mental Health Counselors for the state of Florida, receiving their Master of Arts in Counseling degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary. They worked at an Oviedo counseling center before coming to UPC.

Rachel got her Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology degree from James Madison University, and worked as a career counselor and adjunct faculty member at JMU and then the University of Central Florida. Rachel loves working with adolescents, women and couples.

Michael specializes in helping men deal with depression, sexual addiction, masculinity and gender issues, and abuse. He also enjoys working with couples experiencing relational difficulties and adolescents with self-esteem or behavioral struggles. Michael and Rachel will be available for counseling appointments in early October.
